knocked off of my cloud again
I got caught underneath the rain
that grows the grassy pasture green
on a vast Nebraska plain
I've been working a steady job
to buy a new guitar
staying in one place
to put some gas into my car
but it ain't so bad
at least now I know what I had
knocked off of my cloud again
and then I waddled through the mud
it only cost me an arm, a leg,
an imperial pint of blood
I'm learning to love myself
because it's better for my health
accumulating wealth
that I'll go waste on something else
but it ain't so bad
at least now I know what I had
knocked off of my cloud again
not a second late or soon
I landed on the mountaintop
beneath the harvest moon
I gaze across the land
trying to understand
the scope of things unplanned
hidden in my hand
but it ain't so grand
goes on and on and on and
knocked off of my cloud again
but at least I can't complain
